Local Action Group (LAG) ‘‘Landscape of my heart‘‘ is a civic association which brings together amateur and professional public and supports the development of the rural area, which includes 39 municipalities in the South  and Central Region (see map of the area). LAG ‘‘Landscape of my heart‘‘ works on the area of 598.03 km2 and in the area lived on 1 January 2008 19 261 inhabitants. The average population density of the area is 32.21 inhabitants per km2 (national average is 130 inhabitants/km2).

AG ‘‘Landscape of my heart‘‘ began operating in September 2003 in response to the upcoming European Union's subsidy program called LEADER +. In the end of the first quarter of 2004 LAG was registered with the Ministry of Interior as a civic association under the Law No. 83 / 1990 Coll. The association of citizens.

LAG ‘‘Landscape of my heart‘‘ succeeded in the national LEADER CR programs in years 2004 and 2005 by realizing eight investment projects in total - the Creation of markets with biomass, Construction of reference workplace with the production of fuel alcohol and biogas plant, Development and refurbishment of crushing and sorting lines, Electronic rural market, Involvement of foreign partners in the realizing of the project e-rural market, Increase of the income of the farm of Ing. Hladík from the maintenance of land of Dolnohořicko, Improvement of the conditions for the collection and sorting of plastic packaging waste, Flax production in the ZD Dolní Hořice.

In 2007, the Strategic Plan was prepared for the new LEADER Program period 2007 - 2013 under the name: TOGETHER "Clean", "Make accesible" and ‘‘Refresh‘‘ the landscape.  Strategic Plan LEADER (SPL) of the LAG ‘‘Landscape of my heart‘‘ was evaluated by a committee for evaluating strategic plans LEADER and was rated as the best SPL of 102 submitted plans from the entire country. The door for drawing money from EU funds was opened, and LAG will distribute the money at the local level among local farmers, entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, including churches, municipalities and their bonds, which operate in our area.

The EAFRD, European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, is the financial instrument to promote rural development. It doesn’t belong to the EU structural funds and thus doesn‘t fall into the economic and social cohesion, but it falls into the EU Common Agricultural Policy. Funds from the EAFRD are used to increase the competitiveness of agriculture, grocery, forestry and  for the development of rural areas. In the CR the projects submitted by the so-called Rural Development Programme for the CR, whose managing authority is the Ministry of Agriculture, are paid from the EAFRD.

Rural Development Program of the Czech Republic for the period 2007 – 2013 is based on the National Strategic Rural Development Plan. It was prepared according to the Council Regulation (ES) No 1698/2005 and the implementing rules of the introduced standard.

The rural development program provides exposure of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. In accordance with Council Regulation (EC) 1698/2005 Article 15 defines the strategy of individual axes of the national strategic plan for rural development to implementation level and ensures its effective implementation.

The projects presented by the applicants of the LAG are also covered by this program.

LAG ‘‘Landscape of my heart‘‘ realizes through the projects of its applicants the Strategic Plan Leader TOGETHER "Clean", "Make accesible" and "Refresh" the landscape.

Projects submitted by the applicants of the LAG are implemented under the LEADER axis IV. The purpose of the axis is to improve the quality of life in rural areas, strengthen the economic potential and enhancement of natural and rural heritage, along with strengthening the management and administrative skills in the country.
